Vince Camuto’s Southampton Home Sells For $75 Million, Highest Hamptons Price This Year

Shoe designer Vince Camuto, who founded Nine West, is selling his Southampton home for $75 million. The sales price, well over the $48 million list price, is the highest price this year and believed to be a new record for a Hamptons home.

Camuto listed the property, the 10,000-square-foot Wooldon Manor, in July with the Corcoran Group and Sotheby’s International Realty. Tim Davis of Corcoran group told FORBES that the price spike was due to incorporating an additional nearly 8 acres of property. If it closes before the end of the year as anticipated, the sale of the Camuto estate will join the year’s list of most expensive home purchases, tying for the Number 1 spot with Oaktree founder Howard Marks’ Malibu estate.

The home (not including the additional 8 acres) is situated on 5.14 acres including 472 feet of direct oceanfront property. Past owners include members of the Woolworth dynasty and Edmund C. Lynch, founding partner of Merrill Lynch.

A Sotheby’s spokesman said that a confidentiality agreement prevented him from discussing the sale; however, media outlets are reporting that an unnamed New York couple are the buyers. Camuto has listed a second property–an 11.5-bedroom, 15-bath estate on Mecox Bay in Water Mill, New York–for $49.5 million.
